Film FAQ

Q: Tell me about your film, please!

ET:  It was made in 2006 and is already in 57 countries, without any marketing or advertising. It has been translated into 12 languages by local volunteers.  It is profoundly impacting hundreds of thousands of people who are self-organizing into grassroots movements of re-claiming the power of graceful delivery. The film beautifully illustrates what it really takes to prepare for conscious birth and deliver a baby gracefully, minimizing trauma for all involved.

Q: One of the DVDs I’ve ordered plays very well - “Birth As We Know It (educational); but the other two do not play and come up with blank DVD message. Have you sent the correct European format out?

ET: We had this happen before and every time it was resolved by adjusting settings on the DVD player. It’s not working only on very old or otherwise special players. Please, try playing the DVDs on your computer with VLC player (or any other DVD program). If it is, indeed a defective DVD, please send it back to us and we will immediately send you a replacement.

Q: Can you offer a brief definition of "the conscious birth movement"--what exactly is that (think of the reader who has never heard of this phrase before)...

ET: Conscious Birth Movement is an intelligent approach to our species' procreation. When people-making practice is done with full awareness of the implications of how the quality of gestation and birth is affecting the quality of health and emotional well-being of the new person. It starts with conscious conception, when future parents are on the same page wanting to bring in a new human being into our world; includes birth preparation during 9 months of gestation, that allows them to gain confidence and strength for the delivery, and culminates with the empowering, dignified, graceful experience of baby's arrival, in a way that both parents feel initiated into becoming a Mother and a Father and the baby feels safe and loved.

Q: I am almost done with your film’s Farsi translation. It is a challenge finding Farsi equivalents for some of the concepts in the film. I have done research but really this is quite pioneer work and I don't think Farsi phrases can been used for some of them. So it is fun developing them!

I am not sure what Birthing Field means/refers to. Could you explain?

ET:  Not to worry, some of those concepts did not exist in English either, but now they do.

Birthing Field is the spiraling vortex of energy generated by the Power of Creation (usually at the time when the incoming soul approaches the portal of the opening womb, but equally present any time something new, which did not exist before, is manifesting into existence  a garden, a book, or a new relationship). It's main property is very high, self-organizing intelligence, but it can be extremely shy.

Don't try to translate the film literally - the main thing is to deliver the magic! This film IS the birthing field, - it gives the direct transmission of that 'portal energy', that's why it works so well. The mental information is also very important, but I know that the main effect of it is reached through the poetic license.

Q:  Where can I get more information about birth camps in the Black Sea?

ET: Thank you for your inquiry.  Unfortunately, there are no birth camps at the Black Sea anymore, as it became illegal three years ago.  As far as we know there is not a location to give birth in the sea at this time.  I recently heard rumor of a place in the Yucatan, but do not have any really viable resources to follow up on.  It is most unfortunate that such a haven does not exist at the moment and is much needed, as we receive inquiries from around the globe every week about such a place.  Please if you find anything, let us know.  We are always on the look out and would greatly appreciate it.

Q: What is the title or group of the music in the theatrical trailer of Birth as We Know It, it starts after "To Live" on the screen. It is very pretty.

ET: It's Enya, - Amadeus.

Please let me know what the procedure is to hold a screening at our yoga center. I own a copy of the DVD already, and it's brilliant!!!
